Portugal - September 2015

End of summer 2015 and we started our holiday in the southwestern part of the iberian peninsula. The land was dry and dusty but we found nevertheless interesting animals and also a few Jewel Beetles. On hot days we were cooled from the water of the atlantic sea.

Flowering Mentha suaveolens Ehrh. which is the hostplant of the following small Jewel Beetle.

In the village Querença humans and house martins found the right way to live together.

Dry macchia with the last yellow flowers.

One cuckoo wasp (Chrysis sp.) flew around these sparse yellow flowers.

The autnum comes and brings the rain.
